Glass Artist
Re-use and recycling forms the foundation of my work, which references personal feelings about the world that surrounds me and how as a society we exist within it. Our over reliance on consumer products, pharmaceuticals and processed food and drink. Our disconnection from nature, true beauty, spirituality and our own bodies and minds have all influenced my work, as has the ability of advertising and the media to change how we think, feel and make decisions.
Graduating from Staffordshire University in 2004 with a BA Hons Design: Glass, I have continued to work organically and intuitively, crossing boundaries between glass making techniques. My work has included blown, fused, slumped and cast glass elements, as well as other materials necessary to complete the three-dimensional image.
